Mariah Carey Confirms Her Mom Patricia and Sister Alison Both Died on Same Day: 'My Heart Is Broken' (Exclusive)

Mariah Carey sat alone in her spacious living room, the soft light from the late afternoon sun casting a warm glow over the room. The house was quiet, too quiet, she thought, as the weight of the news she had received earlier in the day settled heavily on her heart.

A few hours earlier, her phone had rung, breaking the peaceful silence. On the other end was her assistant, her voice trembling as she tried to deliver the news delicately. But no amount of delicacy could soften the blow.

“Mariah,” she had said, barely able to hold back her tears. “It’s your mom and Alison… They… they passed away.”

Mariah’s world stopped. For a moment, she couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think. She had always known that life was fragile, but this? This was unimaginable. Both her mother, Patricia, and her estranged sister, Alison, gone on the same day? It was too much for her to comprehend.

She had always had a complicated relationship with her family. Her mother, Patricia, had been her rock in the early years, guiding her through the challenges of growing up mixed-race in a world that didn’t always accept her. Patricia had introduced Mariah to the world of music, teaching her to sing and helping her hone the voice that would one day make her famous. But their relationship had its ups and downs, especially as Mariah’s fame grew and the pressures of her career began to take their toll.

Her sister, Alison, had lived a life very different from Mariah’s. While Mariah was rising to superstardom, Alison struggled with her own demons, battling addiction and health issues that created a rift between the sisters. Over the years, they had grown apart, their once close bond strained by circumstances and choices that neither of them could change.

And now they were both gone. The two women who had shaped her life in such profound, if different, ways were gone, and Mariah was left alone with her grief.

She could still hear her assistant’s voice, shaking as she tried to explain what had happened. A car accident, they said. A tragic, unforeseen event that had taken both Patricia and Alison from this world too soon. Mariah hadn’t known what to say. She had simply hung up the phone and sat there in silence, the tears streaming down her face as the reality of the situation began to sink in.

Now, sitting in the stillness of her home, Mariah felt the full weight of her loss. She had faced many challenges in her life, but this was different. This was a pain that cut deeper than anything she had ever known. She wanted to scream, to cry out against the unfairness of it all, but no sound would come. Her heart was too broken.

Eventually, she knew she would have to face the world, to tell her fans and the public what had happened. But for now, she needed time to grieve, to process the devastating loss of the two women who had been her family.

Taking a deep breath, Mariah picked up her phone and opened a blank document. Slowly, she began to type, the words coming straight from her shattered heart:

“My heart is broken. Today, I lost both my mother, Patricia, and my sister, Alison, in a tragic accident. There are no words to express the depth of my sorrow or the pain of losing two such important people in my life on the same day. I ask for your prayers and privacy during this incredibly difficult time. I will always cherish the memories I have of them, and they will forever be in my heart. I thank you for your love and support as I navigate this unimaginable loss.”

As she finished typing, Mariah felt a sense of finality wash over her. She knew that sharing her pain with the world wouldn’t make it any easier to bear, but it was something she had to do. The world had always looked to her for strength, for the powerful voice that had touched so many lives, and now she would need to find that strength within herself.

She hit ‘send’ and set the phone down, closing her eyes as the tears continued to fall. There would be no music today, no escape into the melodies that had always brought her comfort. Today, there was only grief. But in the midst of her pain, she knew that she would carry on, just as her mother had taught her to do. One day, she would find her voice again. But for now, she would allow herself to mourn, to remember, and to love.

And in the quiet of her home, Mariah Carey wept for the family she had lost, her broken heart echoing in the silence.
